We get involved with the local community

Clause: 5% of the received donations will be allocated to cover necessary administrative expenses for the organization's operation. This percentage will be utilized responsibly to ensure the efficient functioning of our programs and direct resources towards our altruistic projects and their positive impact on the community. We are committed to transparency in handling funds and informing our donors about the responsible use of their contributions.

SCOLARSHIPS
We now have more than 500 students sponsored by friends and Rotarians from Mexico, Canada, and the USA. Students are now sponsored through to the end of University!
In addition, more students have been identified who qualify for the program, and there is a waiting list of approximately 150 students. As a result we are continually looking for new sponsors.

MAGISTERIO
COMMUNITY CENTER
We are committed to providing support and relief to marginalized communities. Every Monday at 2:30 in the afternoon, we offer nutritious meals to the 154 families residing in Colonia Magisterio, benefiting around 730 individuals in total. Our goal is to ensure that no one in the community goes hungry and that everyone has access to adequate food.
In 2003, Club Member Jorge Zambrano supported by Andale Restaurant, started serving a hot lunch one day a week to the families who live at the garbage dump outside of Puerto Vallarta. These families eke out a meager living sorting through the garbage for anything of value which can be sold.
Join us in this effort to build a more prosperous and healthier future for all. Together, we can make a difference!
CLEAN WATER AND FILTERS
Our clean water program provides safe and free drinking water to families in Vallarta.
We deliver water filters to ensure a clean and contaminant-free supply. Additionally, we promote food sanitization and handwashing.
We are committed to improving the quality of life and health in our community by providing access to safe water and proper food hygiene.
Water Filters for Families
Just back from the beaches and tourist areas of Puerto Vallarta, many families do not have access to clean, safe drinking water. Many communities are not on the municipal water purification system. Sometimes families purchase water for 28 pesos for 4 gallons/19 liters but the average working person makes little more than 200 pesos per day. Many families in these communities get their water from the filthy rivers which are multi-use including use for animals and sewage.

CHILDREN WITH CANCER
Our "Children with Cancer" program provides comprehensive support through alternative therapies, assistance with treatments and medications, and food provisions for families with children undergoing chemotherapy. We are committed to accompanying these brave little ones and their families during their cancer journey, offering the necessary support to improve their quality of life and well-being. Together, we create an environment of hope and strength to face this challenging battle.
This program currently supports 20/30 children from very poor families who are undergoing treatment for cancer. The program assists with providing medication and nutrition for the children as they have specialised dietary needs when undergoing various treatments. Also, many children do not have a bed to sleep in, so mattresses are purchased. Each month, the families of these children receive a food hamper with various non-perishable items and fresh fruit and vegetables. In addition, scholarships are provided to children who are well enough to attend school while undergoing cancer treatment.
WHEELCHAIRS
Our wheelchair program provides mobility to those in need in collaboration with organizations like DIVAC and other Rotary clubs.
We deliver wheelchairs to individuals who require them, improving their quality of life and community participation.

ORAL HEALTH FOR ALL
Our program "Oral Health for All" is dedicated to providing dental care in marginalized communities. We conduct cleaning campaigns, restorations, extractions, and other procedures, with a strong focus on prevention.
Our aim is to improve oral health for those with limited access to dental services, promoting the importance of good oral hygiene for healthier and happier smiles.
Together, we work to positively impact the quality of life in these communities through dental care.
VOLCANES COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Our program focuses on providing academic support and tutoring to children in the Volcanes neighborhood. We offer classes in English, music, mathematics, computer skills, and many other subjects to over 400 children in this community. Our mission is to promote access to quality education and strengthen the academic development of these children, ensuring they have all the necessary tools for a successful future. Through the dedication and support of our volunteers, we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of these young students and their community.

The purpose of Becas Scholarship Program is to provide the children of very poor families in the Puerto Vallarta area with the chance of a good education thus enabling them to have a better standard of living than has been available to most of their families.

ENVIROMENT
Our club carries out environmental actions such as tree planting, river cleaning, and park restoration to raise awareness about the importance of the environment. Committed to a sustainable world, we aim to inspire the community to protect our surroundings and become agents of positive change for the planet.
The “Clean Rivers” Program was started in 2017 by Club Member Ignacio (Nacho) Guzman.
At least twice per year, the Rotary Club Puerto Vallarta Sur, in conjunction with local and visiting Rotaract Clubs, organises and undertakes the cleaning of one of the local rivers.
Committed to a sustainable world, we aim to inspire the community to protect our surroundings and become agents of positive change for the planet.
CIRUGÍA DE OJOS
Our eye surgery program provides support to individuals with limited resources, covering the costs of procedures with the participation of Dr. Miramontes. These surgeries are of great importance in improving the quality of life for those in need.

ROTARY KIDS
Rotary Kids is a program designed for children aged 6 to 11, aiming to promote community service and valuable values.
Through project development, it fosters a sense of responsibility and encourages family integration among Rotary members.
The boys carry out social, ecological and environmental activities such as: Preparation of ham cakes to give dinner to the relatives of the sick waiting in hospitals Visits to homes and nursing homes to share time with them, bring them food and play with them.
Posada for the home house where the kids bring piñatas, candy and dinner as well as spending time with the children of the home home Support in natural disasters, with collection centers in the main shopping centers of Puerto Vallarta and Bahia that are delivered to those affected Pet Recycling Centers and caps that are sold for health and community support programs Making jams that are sold to raise funds to pay for children's programs.

Mediante el Intercambio de Jóvenes construimos la paz una persona a la vez.
El programa ofrece a los participantes la oportunidad de hacer un año de aprender un idioma, descubrir otras culturas y convertirse en ciudadanos del mundo. Los clubes rotarios patrocinan Intercambios de Jóvenes para escolares de 15 a 19 años en más de 100 países.

¿Cuánto duran los intercambios?
Los intercambios a largo plazo duran un año lectivo, durante el cual los participantes asisten a escuelas de la localidad y se alojan con varias familias anfitrionas.
Los intercambios a corto plazo duran de varios días a tres meses y se realizan, por lo general, durante las vacaciones escolares, y pueden adoptar la forma de campamentos, visitas guiadas o estadías hogareñas.
¿Cuál es el costo?
Los participantes reciben alojamiento y comida al igual que asistencia gratuita a la escuelas. Los costos varían según el país, y los participantes, por lo general, cubren los siguientes gastos:
